We have actually been working on Fault since the beginning of the year, and we have been waiting until we have a real game to show before going public. Sure the ones with active abilities are all unique and do something good for you (Most notably the one that zaps jungle minions) But I can go into a team fight, kill 2-3 people, get ahead on farm and still feel like I haven't progressed when I buy what I feel are solid items going into mid game. For contrast something like Predecessor who has a more modest item system. Fault is a MOBA with a 3rd person perspective created with the help of the Paragon assets. OP on the other hand has no idea about what it's trying to be currently and hasn't chosen a baseline to develop around which leaves it feeling completely directionless and stagnant. I'm sure we also forgot to mention that there are TWO more Paragon successors in development (totaling 4); Ethereal's Clash Of Souls and … Raptor. I get that judging the item systems is apart of the game, but at the end of the day I feel Pred is further along with its identity as a whole and once they have a way more solid foundation for base gameplay, pumping in Items and Heroes should come easier than what Fault has to overcome right now.If you watched until the end, you would've caught how they say Pred is getting an item rework down the line and the current system is actually placeholder.

It can evolve either way, whether stats feel impactful or the emphasis is on effects. Before I go on my rant, I'll have to say, I'm a huge advocate of player choice. Close. This isn't your ordinary project announcement. I'm excited to reveal today a new Paragon-like (with Paragon assets) project!

Posted by. Obviously that's not enough to say my piece. Fault is the furthest ahead in that regard which I gave it plenty of credit for throughout the podcast despite my personal reservations and criticisms. I will say their passive idea shines through brighter than their items.I may need to play through more Fault games, but so far it feels like items don't play a huge impact as far as basic stats go. But overall, while I can only hope that this will change for each game respectively moving forward, not one of the 3 projects have done enough to convince me they'll be able to pull it off and attract new players beyond the nostalgic Paragon community, and that worries me deeply. It's rather difficult to summarise 2 hours of discussion, as I'm sure you'll understand. I'd have assumed the delay was to fix issues, but there's those gamebreaking bugs that would have been noticed if the game was played for more than 30 seconds.Curious to see your opinion on anything new that comes out or any news of a more drastic change in one of the existing remakes, keep it up!I agree with basically every point you've made. Watch our amazing trailer.Fault uses Unreal Engine. But I will say from a couple of the comments in this thread and the genral tone around Fault in the early video. So as far as lacking identities, I get it I can see where that comes from. I understand a kit like Sevarog, but a kit like Khaimera that is literally a stat check is going to be reworked down the line since it doesn't depend on skill on either side.

Also I feel like items should feel a ton more impactful to the game, but I believe Fault's aspect/"blips" system is overloading with the number of mechanics being added in for something that could be done in a conventional item system with a bit of extra creativity. One thing that I feel I'm more biased about, slapping a "this is alpha" on the game doesn't make it immune from criticism, much less so when you're literally selling it, though this currently applies more for Fault. I'd much rather let players do their own mods and let them have P2P servers since a MOBA is an amazing game framework where you can create almost any other game out of it.

Essentially, each game has problems and we remained fairly impartial throughout as we discussed them in detail.

BORIS is a friendly cybernetic bear who fell into a life of crime after escaping the Tryon Industries laboratory where he was created, but wishes to remake himself.
